Blog/TeamBuilding-II

Well it took me some time to follow up on the team building experience.

It turns out that we actually did go sailing, on a really fast speed boat, one of the guys put on a surfer's suit (or wet-suit or whatever it is called) and dumped into the water at high speed - he would then ricochet of the water. It looked kinda fun, but unfortunaetely there was only time for one person on each team.

Yes, we were split into smaller teams of about 6 persons on each team and the different teams then competed againts each-other, my team got a shared third place, but there was not that much attention given to the competition there was more focus on having fun and meeting people that you con't normally talk to.

We went through a lot of different events before finally having a rest in the swimming pool and finishing the day of with a nice dinner and partying later on - although we were all pretty beat after the torments of the day (basket is really hard for someone used to sitting on their ass all day :-)

  • Shooting, both rifle and bow and arrow
  • Petangue
  • Basketball
  • Volleyball
  • Sack-race
  • Hockey
  • Viking games (vikinge spil, KUBB, høvdinge spil), a game about throwing sticks to knock over the other team's sticks, very funny.
  • Riding on the speed boat The whole thing took place at a camping site in the north-west of jutland, the camping site was called Klim String Camping, a top-notch camping site, at least better than the (aggreably few) camping sites i have visited in the past. Luckily we rented huts so we didn't have to sleep in a tent (i hate sleeping in tents).

The next day we were back at SimRad to try and work - not many great ideas was conjured up that day :-)
