Blog/They-killed-my-car

The last weeks i have been mastering the strength to write this message ... well ok maybe not, but there has to be some reason that i haven't blogged this yet.

In denmark cars has to pass an inspection/test every two years, well my cars number has come up, and i'm pretty sure it won't make it. My trusty old Opel Kadett from 89 will have to go, it can be swapped for cash, sold as scrap iron ... the poor thing :-(

I will now have to look for a new (used) car, i paid 3000 DKK for my last car, so the next should probably be double that - i'm thinking asian (and not just because i've seen some random porn flick).

What else is going on? My days are currently spent on an un-employment course, lots of talking, lots of talking, and ... some visits to companies that are actually imformative. For those looking to write a job application or just looking to be real "up-beat" (or beat-up if you ask me), are:

  • Networking (as in the people kind)
  • Extrovert (i haven't seen a job-ad yet without that requirement)
  • Homour (same as extrovert) So just repeat these three mantras over and over, and you will have a job within seconds. Unfortunaetely, because of the aforementioned porno flick, i can't find the time to repeat these mantras over and over.

For the danish readers i urge you to go to Morten Helveg Petersen's site and read his proposal for a common stance on open standards for the entire danish public administration. For the non-english readers MHP is a danish politician.

To finish this post off, i'll mention that i'm still working on er2code in the few hours where i don't whatch the, now commonly mentioned, porn flick. Newest features include:

  • Easier methods for defining functions.
  • Most attributes and tables can now create themselves, and all the tables in the database can be created by callind create() on the DataBase object. It's not nearly as cool a tool as SQL Object, but still eases database development with PHP considerably.

Until next time.
