A buddy is bugging, because he wants to see a current screenshot of the university game, well here goes - some graphics still needed, but the game-engine is almost done. We are now ready to face influence-maps and other AI techniques.
I have started writing a small utility that i have wanted to write for quite some time. It's a utility to configure my laptop based on where i use it. No network configuration, everything but. Actually it can determine the current location based on the current network. So based on this current location it can setup proxies, change X11 configuration and so forth. I intend to write a nice gnome-frontend for it some time in the future. For now it is at version 0.0.2 and working nicely on my laptop, might be a bit hard to setup, but there are some nice examples included. You can apt-get install it from http://dev.infonet.dk/debian (unstable distribution).
The reason for doing this now is that i have just acquired a new 17" LCD screen capable of doing 1280x1024 - so now i have a separate display for mail, jabber and other small utilities that i like within my field of vision but out of the "area of attention". Plus, i can watch two pr0n movies at the same time!
You might have noticed that halfdans.net have been down quite a few times the last couple of weeks. I think we have narrowed it down to bad ram in the server, this has been replaced, and we hope for better uptime now. (although memtest didn't find any problems).
I have written an introduction to Tom Lord's Arch, it's not completely done yet, and not proof-read so bug reports are welcome. to Tom Lords Arch
That's it for now, i'm still working on getting Odin to use Anybus, and the thing compiles at the moment, and most of the world is able to run. But much work is yet to be done. But i'm hopeful for the future of the project, at least it has found some improvements/bugs in both libanybus and libpathfinder. So those should be closer to a relaese.
