In the vertigo--ticket41--0 branch of my Repository i have recently fixed Ticket #41 which deals with allowing the administrator to set the log-level of the things Vertigo should print to the screen (or rather the email when run through cron) during vertigo-update. And it is really a nice improvement! Here is the mail i usually get from vertigo-update (even shortened): [Tue Nov 22 04:00:01 2005] [elwood] [II] Vertigo-update started by root [Tue Nov 22 04:00:01 2005] [elwood] [II] Updating vertigo for services: [Tue Nov 22 04:00:02 2005] [elwood] [II] postgresql [Tue Nov 22 04:00:02 2005] [elwood] [II] vertigo-postgresql 0.6.2.2 initiated by root on elwood [Tue Nov 22 04:00:02 2005] [elwood] [II] vertigo-postgresql finished [Tue Nov 22 04:00:03 2005] [elwood] [II] mysql [Tue Nov 22 04:00:03 2005] [elwood] [II] vertigo-mysql 0.6.2.2 initiated by root on elwood [Tue Nov 22 04:00:03 2005] [elwood] [II] vertigo-mysql finished [Tue Nov 22 04:00:04 2005] [elwood] [II] report [Tue Nov 22 04:00:04 2005] [elwood] [II] vertigo-report 0.6.2.2 initiated by root on elwood [Tue Nov 22 04:00:04 2005] [elwood] [II] vertigo-report finished [Tue Nov 22 04:00:05 2005] [elwood] [II] mail [Tue Nov 22 04:00:05 2005] [elwood] [II] vertigo-qmail 0.6.2.2 initiated by root on elwood [Tue Nov 22 04:00:07 2005] [elwood] [II] vertigo-qmail finished [Tue Nov 22 04:00:07 2005] [elwood] [II] backup [Tue Nov 22 04:00:07 2005] [elwood] [II] vertigo-backup 0.6.2.2 initiated by root on elwood [Tue Nov 22 04:00:08 2005] [elwood] [II] The old and the new vertigo backup was equal, so the old was deleted. With the ticket41 branch i should only get this (should, it is not on the production system yet). Wonderful! Only giving the messages that are actually important :-) I will release this as version 0.6.3.1 in the unstable branch as soon as version 0.6.3 is out the door.
To make this a not-completely-boring-code-post i have attached a great picture that Kristian Sørensen took at a Christmas-lunch recently - for the non-danish people a christmas lunch usually involves:
- Over-eating of pork-related products.
- Over-indulgence of Snaps.
- Ending up in a pool of vomit (usually your own) before midnight. You should try it, it's wonderful!

[HTML_REMOVED] Ending up in a pool of vomit (usually your own) before midnight.
Did you actually reach that point? :)
Well, my clothes seemed quite clean when i woke up the next morning, so i think i avoided ending up in the pool ;-)
Will humans ever learn to control their snaps intake?
He he. I guess it was me who ended up in a pool of vomit.... or so i have heard... can't quite remember all of it... :)
You were the first to take a dive, although i think that the only one who reacted to it was the [HTML_REMOVED]woman of the house[HTML_REMOVED] - i remember her rushing with a dishwashing bowl, while the rest of us laughed.
Nice to know that you can rely on your friends to get a good laugh when you are down ;-)
